1. Bureau on Suppression of Drug Industry and Control over turnover of narcotics, Department of Internal Affairs in South Kazakhstan region (hereinafter, the Bureau or BSDI DIA SKR) is a territorial subdivision of the Committee on suppression of drug industry and control over turnover of narcotics, Ministry of Internal Affairs. It implements the state policy within its competence with respect to the turnover of narcotic and psychotropic substances and precursors.

2. The Bureau acts in accordance with the Constitution and the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, regulations of the Presidents and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Regulations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan about the Committee on suppression of drug industry and control over turnover of narcotics, Ministry of Internal Affairs, and other normative law acts including international contracts of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The main tasks of the Bureau are as follows:

1) to ensure implementation of the state policy with respect to the turnover of narcotic and psychotropic substances and precursors, and counteroperation towards their illegal turnover and abuse;

2) to ensure coordination of activity between the state department and other organizations with respect to preventive measures and counteroperation towards narcotics abuse and drug industry within the region;

3) prevention, detection and settlement of crimes related with narcotics, psychotropic substances and precursors;

4) implementation of state control over turnover of narcotics, psychotropic substances and precursors;

5) analysis of the condition and trends of narcotics environment in the region;

6) trust line 30-02-02 was established to receive information about narcotics related crimes in South Kazakhstan region
